The Ecency Publish page provides a rich editor for composing posts. You can drag and drop media, create polls, and style your content with a toolbar or Markdown.

Adding media

Images

• Drag and drop images or click the image icon to upload from your device.
• Paste an image link to embed from an external source.

Videos

• Paste a video URL (YouTube, 3Speak, etc.) and it will embed automatically.
• Use the media upload to attach your own MP4 or WebM files.

Creating polls

• Select the poll option in the toolbar to insert a poll block.
• Enter your question and up to five answer choices.

Importing content

You can import an existing blog post or article into the editor instead of starting from scratch. This is useful when you want to republish your own content from another platform onto Hive.

How to import

1. Open the Import page directly, or click the import icon in the Publish toolbar.
2. Paste the URL of the article you want to import.
3. The content, title, images, and tags will be loaded into the editor where you can review and edit before publishing.

Supported sources

• Hive posts - URLs from Ecency, PeakD, Hive.blog, and other Hive front-ends. The original markdown and tags are preserved.
• External articles - URLs from any public website. The article text and images are extracted automatically, and a source attribution is appended at the end.

Caution

Only import content that you own or have permission to republish.

Formatting content

• Use toolbar buttons for headings, lists, quotes, links, and more.
• Switch to Markdown mode for precise control over formatting.
