Hive Engine tokens

How to show, send, stake, delegate, trade and claim Hive Engine tokens in the Ecency wallet.

Hive Engine is a second-layer token platform on Hive. Communities and projects use it to issue their own tokens. The Ecency wallet lets you hold and manage these tokens next to HIVE, HBD and Points.

SPK Network tokens (SPK, LARYNX and LP) are no longer supported in the Ecency wallet and are hidden from it.

Your wallet always shows Points, HIVE, Hive Power and HBD. Hive Engine tokens appear only after you pick them.

Web

  1. Open your wallet (your profile, then Wallet).
  2. Select Manage tokens.
  3. In Pick tokens to show, find the token under Hive engine or use Search token.
  4. Select the tokens you want and Save.

Your choice is saved to your Hive profile, so it follows you to other devices.

Mobile

  1. Open Wallet and tap Add / Remove Assets.
  2. Move tokens from Available Assets to Selected Assets.

Select a token to open its page with your balances, its history and the available actions.

Open a token from your own wallet to see its actions. Which ones appear depends on the token, because each token sets its own rules (for example, whether it can be staked or delegated and how long unstaking takes).

Action What it does
Transfer Send liquid tokens to another Hive account.
Stake Lock tokens to earn passive rewards.
Unstake Release staked tokens. You stop earning passive rewards on them. The token decides how long this takes.
Delegate Lend staked tokens to another account.
Undelegate Take a delegation back to your own balance.

To use an action:

  • Web: select the action card, fill in the account and amount, then confirm.
  • Mobile: tap the action button on the token page, fill in the form and confirm.

Transfer, stake, unstake and delegate are Hive Engine transactions on the Hive chain, so they need your active key. See Hive accounts and keys.

If a token has rewards waiting for you, a claim button appears with the amount, for example “0.123 LEO”.

  • Web: select the button on the token in your wallet list or on the token page. It shows “Collecting…” and then “Collected … !”.
  • Mobile: tap the claim button on the token’s card in your wallet.

Claiming uses your posting key. Each token is claimed separately.

Hive Engine is a second-layer service on top of Hive. It processes transactions on its own nodes, so updates can take longer than for HIVE or HBD. If a claim button still shows after you claimed, or a balance hasn’t changed after a transfer:

  1. Wait a couple of minutes.
  2. Refresh your wallet, or close and reopen the app.
  3. On the web, open the token’s page and check its history to see whether the claim or transfer went through.

Don’t claim or send again right away, since the first one may still be on its way.

Anyone can create a Hive Engine token. Tokens are made and run by their communities or projects, not by Ecency. Some are no longer maintained or have stopped offering rewards, so claims may not work. Others have no buyers on the market, so you may not be able to sell them and the estimated value may be wrong. Ecency can’t fix that. Check the token’s community or project for news before you buy or stake it.

On the web, the Trade tokens button on your wallet opens the market. The Hive Engine market lets you trade Hive Engine tokens with limit orders, priced in SWAP.HIVE. It shows buy and sell orders, recent trades and your open orders. You need to be signed in to trade. See Market for more.

The mobile app has no Hive Engine market. Its swap screen covers HIVE and HBD only.

Ecency shows an estimated value for each token, in the currency you picked in settings.

  • The value is based on the token’s last trade price on the Hive Engine market, converted with the current HIVE price.
  • A token with no market price shows a value of 0.
  • On the web token page, the balance in your currency counts only your liquid balance, not staked tokens.

Treat this as a guide only. Many Hive Engine tokens trade thinly, so you may not be able to sell at the shown price.
